Im setting up a Shimano Di2 front derailleur and having trouble with support bolt and the cage position.

I tried the first time and everything went smooth but as I wasn't sure of the position (I thought I mistook something but actually everything was alright) I took it off and started again.

At my 2nd attempt when screwing the support bolt the front derailleur's cage wouldnt move outward but only the tail of the cage.
(in the first setup the whole cage was moving correctly outward)

What am I doing wrong?
Hope someone can help before I try with an hammer!
Thanks in advance!

Wrong bolt?

First time, front derailleur's cage move outward - Wrong, it's the low adjustment bolt

Second time, only the tail of the cage move outward - Correct

Make sure you have that metal backing plate installed as well to keep that tail alignment screw from damaging your frame. I just super glued a tiny square of carbon (from my cut off ISP) to the frame for lightweight stage 3.

Cheers guys.

The bolt is the correct one.
According to Shimano first I should setup the cage in a tiny bit oblique position like in the picture (3), and then screw the support bolt; is it supposed to move just the tail of the cage?
I thought it would be the whole cage.... :noidea:

Tensioning the support bolt moves just the tail of the cage outward. Set it up just slightly tail in initially and use the support to make it parallel.
