I wonder if they've made other changes to the frame, notice the "hop" around the back of the brakes on Sagan's newer bike vs Cav's TdF one. Tire clearance on the frame appears tighter too.
The notch for the back of the brake is visible on the current VIAS pictures on the Specialized website.

On many cars there are vents to help cool the brakes. I like to think that that bike is so fast and the brakes do not get direct airflow so they had to run vents. I still like the pitot tube comment as well.
Let's finish the ride with a 20% grade.

Bikeradar coverage of his bike indicates they are fitting new brakes to all the Venge bikes, anyone with info on this?
I've just ordered one but will make sure it comes with new brakes if its the case.

I think it is standard on the 2017 model. Mine (disc version has it). So, you should be able to purchase it via your Specialized dealer. After checking the website, might only be the case for the disc models. You will probably have to talk to the Specialized dealer.

Unfortunate that Specialized had to go this route to deal with the poor braking performance. Looks like a Giant Propel with the poor cable routing now blowing in the wind.

As someone else noted, I'm pretty sure Specialized only did this to accommodate the non-specialized cockpit, as well as make it easier to swap cables/housing if needed during the tour.
