I'm switching to a crank-based powermeter, and in the process of removing my exogram crankset I noticed a faint rattling in the drive side carbon body. I could not find any visible holes in the carbon where a foreign object could have entered so it must be something that dislodged from inside. From the feel and sound of the rattle the object can't be more than about 100 mg in weight. A piece of carbon? Excess epoxy? A leftover piece of a bladder used in during layup?
Any idea what this object could be? Has anyone else had a similar experience? I plan to sell this crankset and I want to give the proper disclaimer to the recipient, but I don't know how much of a problem this rattling could be.
