xtr's are advertised as 310 grams a pair, 9000 spd-sl are 250 grams. Doesn't look like much of a penalty to be able to walk around. I do not race, I just ride 2-3 times a week for long miles and get off the bike occasionally.

And what about the shoes?
BTW Weight is not the worst thing, what is unacceptable IMO in the case of xtr pedals is the non-existent cleat contact area. Stack height is also problematic.

shoes are top of the line specialized with carbon soles. don't know the brand. cost way too much..
