Quarq RS (Shimano) crank arm swap
Moderator: robbosmans
i have a BB30 Quarq RS power meter that takes the 4 bolt Shimano chainring. It's 175mm and i'd like to swap it to 170mm. Quarq has these arms available at $400+. I was thinking that a SRAM Force BB30 crank arm is pretty much the same- and considerably cheaper. Does anyone know if the SRAM Force crank will be a straight swap? my older crank arms attached with 3 bolts on the back of the chain ring holder. the newer Quarqs appear to have an 8 bolt mount. thanks in advance.
The 3-bolt and 8-bolt ones are not interchangable; but the Force arms would fit if you got the correct bolt version.

i've looked at Force 22 and S900 BB30 cranks and both of these seem to have the 3 bolt mount (drive side crank arm to spider). i can't seem to find a compatable SRAM crank. anyone have any ideas?
did SRAM make a specific BB30 crank arm for the Quarq Elsa RS?

I think the 8 bolt cranks are only for Quarqs, at least at this stage.

Yeah, that's correct. It has a better interface for power measurement, but it's not on all the Quarqs at the moment.
