Stripping Campagnolo carbon crank
Moderator: robbosmans
Been there, done that, but never ended the 'project'. I had a hard time stripping all the clear + lettering with a razor blade was. I don't have pictures of the drive side, but the look of it was dull, boring, ... As it never been clear coated after that, I can't comment on the final look, but a layer of (at least satin gloss) clear is really needed to obtain the classy campy look again.

I've read somewhere that amount of clear coat in Campagnolo carbon cranks is enormous...
If I decide to strip logos, naturally I'll paint it back for glossy with automotive clear coat ( with some additives like for bumpers, to keep it elastic- but I'm not a pro at this area, so forgive my ignorance... )

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that

I have not done this with campy cranks but I have experience with sanding and re clear coating lots of other stuff. You should only have to wet sand the clear in the area of the logo and then re-spray that clear.
