Hey guys,

Can anyone advise on whether any of the MCFK lefty steerers (http://www.mcfk.de/en/products/gabelsch ... er-en.html) will be able to be fitted to the new Cannondale Slate (http://www.cannondale.com/en/Internatio ... b80683c349).

I'd love to be able to make this change. But Lefty definitely isn't my first language... Which one am I looking at?

If you look on Starbike they seem to have three sizes - S, M and XL. The slate has three headtube sizes so maybe.

How much weight does it save?

i installed a EP carbon steerer tube on my SuperX to install a Lefty

it required the 1 and 1/8 straight version and a bottom 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1/8 reducer shim

but i have a 137mm "old style" Lefty clamp spacing

The Lefty Oliver is specific made for the Slate.

the lenght of the steerer tube depends on the frame size

Here is the info from the dealer book:

CROWN SPACING for Slate frame :
SMall - 97mm
MeDium - 110mm
LarGe - 122mm
XLarge - 134mm

morrisond, my understanding is that I'd have to track something custom down, with the appropriate spacing (as above).

I was going to try buy in advance of mine turning up, but I think I might wait and see...

Why are you doing this?

I was reading on another thread that it actually doesn't save any weight?

Or are you just trying to get around the 1.5" Steerer stem?

I think there are lighter 1.5" stem options now.
