I do like the idea of wireless shifters to a wired front/rear mech. That could work fine and eliminate the longest run of wiring and clean things up.

The rumors I have heard, directly from the horses mouth so to speak is no wireless. Obviously that can change, but I'd expect to see DA Hydro far before wireless Di2.

What advantage would D.A. hydro bring over the current combo. Nicer hoods?

I think the main benefit would be a lot lighter shifters.

DA Di2 are about 240 grams and the current Hydro Di2 are about 540 if I recall correctly.

XTR brake levers are only 122 grams for a pair which includes the levers.

Shimano should be able to make a DA Di2 Hydro lever come in somewhere around 300-320grams (close to half a lb in savings) and a Mechanical lever somewhere around 500 grams vs about 640.

Taking weight off the front of the bike is the one you can most feel.

I hope they hurry up and get it done.
