still think the crank weights are off
Also Force 1 levers are 175/117 = 292g
http://www.bikerumor.com/2014/10/17/unb ... sc-brakes/
Force 22 are 307g (actual?)
so 15g there
complete set of Gore Ride on shift cables 128g - so figure front der housing/wire is a bit less than half that weight? 50g?

Arts says 319g actual weight for Force 22 mech shifters
Force 1 levers actual weight 292g
so actually 27g + 50g cable weight
77g?
Don't get me wrong though, I think that for Road Riding in general the 2x11 is better than 1x11 compromise
1x11 shines if you are needing extra chain retention and or simpler drivetrain like Cross and Gravel etc.

SRAM love the 1x11 it gets rid of their Achilles heel
TBH, this is pretty much my take on it, other than some mtbs with all but no space to fit a front mech.sugarkane wrote:SRAM love the 1x11 it gets rid of their Achilles heel
you? If lack of maintenance is a benefit, when it consists of almost no work at all. You must find it tricky.Who's complaining?
I must say that I am surprised how quickly I have totally adapted to 1x11 on my winter bike. No noise, lower weight (-150g in my case, as I'm using a normal RD), much simpler, better looking (if that matters to you), and (this is mostly an issue on a winter bike that sees a lot of wear) the cassette gets used much more over the entire range. This I'm sure will prolong the life of my chain and cassette.
Note. I live in Denmark where's is quite flat, but in my area there's a lot of short, steep hills, and with 48/28, I don't miss gears, even on 10%+ hills. A friend of mine did a whole Cat. 2 season with 1x11 and loved it. I'm contemplating doing the same next year.

Lower weight and better looking in relation to your winter bike in Denmark? Usually we just have heavy winter bikes with very long fenders and big lights. Do you have pictures of your setup?
And I'd like to see that friends bike as well. I don't think I noticed him in the peloton.

Dunno if that works. If it does, there's a hint to who my friend is. Maybe that will solve things for you.
Edit. Are my fenders long enough?
