Hey guys,

I need to fit a Shimano crankset on a 386evo frame and I was looking at possible options on the market.
It seems there's a lot of adaptors but not many bottom brackets, one of the fews would be Rotor/C-Bear or some cheap options like the one sold by Planet X (Tripeak).

Any advice?
Cheers!

Maybe THM BB would fit as well?

EDIT: forget it - wrote it without thinking...

Kogel makes some pretty solid BBs. A little heavy, yea, but I personally don't mind a couple extra grams for a trouble free BB. I haven't installed this specific model, but others have been top notch.

Kogel is heavy. But nice. Really nice.

lightest I found was Rotor . Works for me. Smooth & Silent.

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that ;)

This thread is useless without actual weight numbers for comparison.

I was in the same situation as you and found it was quite hard to get weights on the various bottom brackets options.

My frame came with a FSA BB-PF30 bottom bracket (79g) and the FSA adapters for 24mm spindle (17g) = total 96g. You could save 3g going to the FSA BB-PF30 ceramic version.

Here's a list of native 24mm BB386 bottom brackets I found with weights I could find.
-Wishbone - BB38624 - 119g - http://www.wishbonetw.com/pro_3.asp?cate=122&id=262
-Rotor - 4624 steel - 111g
-Rotor 4624 ceramic - 102g
-C-bear - ? weight
-Koegal 386EVO-24 - ?weight

Good luck, and let us know if you do find a lighter one than 96g.

F1 Ceramic lists their bb386 to shimano at 105g. I am using one of their thread together units (which is heavier) but works incredibly well. I've actually used their stuff off and on for over 10 years and it has always performed well.

I bought this one because the price was good: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-DRIVELINE-B ... 1761018208?

I haven't used it yet, still waiting for the BH G7 frameset to arrive. It looks nice and has o-rings to seal the spindle which is nice. My scale says 110g... but it rounds off to the nearest 5g, so it could be a couple grams over that. I'm a heavy guy so I don't really care about the weight of bike parts, but it seems like a nice BB for the price. After I bought all the parts to build the bike BH updated the website to show that the frameset comes with a BB, so I might end up not even using this.
