Over the weekend I made some progress on this projekt...but I'm not 100% happy with these...but it was the first try to visualize my thoughts.
not sure, when I'm able to test the brake lever

Wow so amazing....do you still need a front shifter? I may be able to get you one.

I meant new dura ace shifters, they seem relatively simple on the inside to cost so much at retail.

My guess..."exotic" materials and you can rebuild it. Compared to the lower quality groops, the Dura Ace has much less press fit bolts and a high number of screwings

Try getting a CNC machine shop to fabricate all the individual parts to the same exacting tolerances and surface treatment quality.

You'll be even more shocked how much it costs ....

Pretty daring project this, FastDad! What's your target weight or how much do you think you can save?

I don't think this project is daring at all...at least less daring than a home made saddle seatpost combo and a bar stem combo

I guess this one STI will weight in the 90s at the end, including the hood... maybe sub 90g

Any news on the project?

I was wondering, does it make sense/do you plan to, remove the return spring from the brake-lever, since theoretically the springs in the brake-bodies should suffice to pull the lever back, or not?
