Hi all,

I have a set of rather nice wheels, 50mm gigantex tubular rims on Royce hubs with dt spokes. They're not super light at about 1500gms, but he Royce hubs will last forever... they're about 3 years old now and the hubs run like new still on the original bearings.. at some point soon when the braking surfaces are knackered, I'd like to rebuild the hubs on a sightly more stable riding, modern rim; wider U profile, maybe 45mm on the front and 50-60mm on the rear. Can anyone recommend a good value and light rim? I've been looking at "light bicycle" rims from china, they do a 45mm tub rim at an alleged 410gms and a 55mm at 430gms, both around the $160 mark... has anyone had experience of ordering these to the UK? are they any good? can anyone recommend anything else??

cheers,

O

1) Those were clinchers

2) So far just the one report and it was just one rim, he never tried the second.

3) Mine, both of them, have been flawless so far.
