I tried to test out something similar. The bar I received what horrible. I will only buy bars from trusted sources. Anybody can make a carbon bar looks nice in pictures.

Or, they use pics of the real thing and send you something else.

I think when you find bike parts shipped from China for less than half of retail, you have to assume they are fake.

Why would you risk it!
I picked up my Deda Elementi Electa for $150 at Chain Reaction. Check the internet stores and find something that has a warranty and you can be sure is not fake and filled with fibre glass.
If you are going to buy Chinese, then buy direct from the manufacturer, not from a distributor.

There are a couple of decent ebay carbon sellers that sell unbranded bars. ICAN and Merek make good stuff. Just make sure to take a look at the shape. I got some that were a bit long which meant I had to shorten my stem.

I wouldn't want to be buying carbon bars dirt cheap on ebay tbh if they were secondhand, and IMO if you ride in groups you need to consider provenance of safety critical equipment as it's not just your safety at stake

The thing is you can get huge discounts on new carbon bars from the recognizable brands, you just have to know what you're after and be patient. Ride the alloy equivalent in the meantime ...

Sawyer...I agree and that's why i was asking if anyone had an idea of who might be a reputable mfr.

On the other hand, what is not considered critical equipment? Bars? Stem? Wheels? Frame? Brakes?

let's face, most of us in here have bought one of those components and assumed some sort of risk

consider ritchey evocurve but note the ends (where they measure c-c) flare...so if you ride 42 c-c hoods buy the 44 ritchey.

Standard Evocurve are c230g and the higher end one is 199g ish

Zipp SLC2's seem very nice, and can be had for pretty cheap on eBay

what makes these work well for me is the ovalized (not flat) tops which mean the trailing edge is curved not sharp therefore eliminating palm dig (plus nice wide grip). so comfy I moved to non-padded (giro zero) gloves.

the name: superlogic evocurve for the ultimate ritchey bling
