Simple is better in most cases, nothing wrong with bearing design on the Fulcrums.
Bearings look as the same design than the Zeros without the "ceramic".
Why do you say they are worse?

You're right not to want Boras if you're on Shimano.

Note that the Fulcrums are the older narrower rim shape. TBH though you can easily obsess over the difference and in reality it doesn't make much - slightly better handling, and perhaps fractionally more aero though you won't notice.

If you can get a deal on the Fulcrums that would be a good move

The best price is around 1250€. Actually the best deal i found. How would you compare them with dt swiss rc38 spline? I know that dt hoops have bery good hubs and their quality is good... Beside you can get for around 1000€

the campy/fulcrum bearings are the best in the business. So don't worry about this part.

LOL- the thing is mimason, everyone on this forum is on a trip. Really it's bike aesthetics at its most obsessive

The basics of brand congruity - no big Shimano/Campag mish-mashes - are a relatively mild case of this affliction

New Bora 35's are better than anything on your list. Bullet-proof hubs, wide profile.

And they come in a Shimano spline...just get the dark if you are worried about mixing Campy & Shimano. If I was spending $1,500 Eur, I wouldn't comprimise because of mixing brands...YMMV

I have a set of Fulcrum RS XLRs which I'd be happy to let go for 900 euro.

You should really consider to add Corima Aero wheels to the list. They are bommb proof with absolutely great hubs and trouble free.

There is nothing wrong in using a Cmpagnolo hubset on a Shimano equipped bike as long as you buy the Campagnolo groupset to match them afterwards =)

Used? I'd prefer new set

Fast Forward make pretty good wheels and they come with DT 240 hubs so are reliable.
Braking is good in the dry and wet and the F6R tubulars weigh in at 1350g for 60mm deep rims
