Heel up Calnago,
I'm nursing a separated shoulder suffered in a crash six weeks ago. I also cracked my helmet, but my head wasn't damaged too badly, thanks to my helmet. My shoulder was feeling a whole lot better, but I decided to go a little harder this weekend, and now my shoulder is aching again.
Helmets . whats the point. New study

The next day I couldn't type a sentence on the computer cuz it "hurt my brain". Might not be here right now if it wasn't for my helmet. I know a guy, former pro back in the day, that doesn't wear a helmet with the lame excuse of "I know how to ride a bike". Maybe so, but when something like what happened to @hamd a few posts up occurs, then you are no longer in control and at the mercy of whatever incident is taking place. Other than that one guy, I don't know anyone who rides without a helmet.
Heal fast man. That really sucks and I always cringe when hearing about spills. Helmets are a must...safety first.

I had the same attitude 30 years ago, and only wore head protection - hairnets could hardly be viewed as helmets - during sanctioned races where USCF rules required the use of a helmet. Of course that all changed in 1982 while out on a 5-hour, afternoon solo training ride, when a woman driving her boyfriends Mercedes Benz convertible with the top down, passed very close by, then cut me off as she turned into a parking lot without so much as a turn signal or even a glance back over her shoulder. Needless to say, after that incident, when the first wave of foam cored cycling helmets were introduced not long afterwards, I was an early adopter and have not ridden without a helmet since that day!
