Lake shoe sizes

So, I'm looking at getting a pair of Lake CX402 road shoes. I've been told they are small but to take into consideration that they get heat moulded to your feet. I'm a European size 44 but on bike24.com they recommend getting a size bigger.
Does anybody own a pair of these and what did you order?

Also, any comments regarding width would be appreciated. Wider/narrower than Sidi Genius for example.

I use the MX 303's. I went a size larger but only to make room for socks. I don't think they run small.

I use both Lake and Sidi. The sizes are the same for me. The CX402 are slightly wider than the Sidi high end models. The moulding function is superb. Lake CX402 is the first non Sidi cycling shoe I have liked for ages.

I have Sidi Genius 6.6 and a pair of Lake MX170 both in the same size; the Lakes have a more generous toe box than the Sidi but are a similar fit length wise.

I've got a full review of the Lake CX402 on my blog here. I still believe it's the best shoe out there. From my experience the Lakes do fit a bit wider but the CX402 molds to your foot so well that any extra space is removed where the CX237 is very generous in comparison.

For sizing I have a 41.5 in the CX402 and a 41 in the CX237. I also have a 41 in the Fizik R1 if that helps for comparison. So if anything I sized up half a size in the CX402

I've just switched some of these brands, couldn't be happier:
Have the Sidi Ergo 2 in 44
Had the Gaerne G.Stilo in 43
Have the Lake CX402 in 43

Really nice shoes, a lot of space in the toebox and if you have wider feet they are perfect. I do recommend you to use the table provided by lake to measure your feet. Then get the size that accommodates both the length and the width of your feet.

I had some CX326s a few years ago. They ran same as my Specialized and Shimano. All were 44.

I wore a 45 in Sidi.

how does the CX402 compare to Shimano wide fit?

I don't have the 402s, but I have found the Lakes to be between Shimano regular and wide, but with a lower height to the toe box. I have not tried any of the wide Lakes.
