Hi,

Is there some kind of WW-level 2-hole shoe I can buy? Can you buy road shoes for MTB SPD-style cleats?

I currently have some "road" shoes from lake that feature an interchangeable plate but they are 600g per shoe.

I would be happy to buy MTB shoes if the answer is no but I don't want/need all the unnecessary studs & MTB-specific bulkyness.

Anyone know my lightest options?

fwiw, my Bont Vaypor XC weigh 372g per shoe with some mud and Look quartz cleats (16g each). Then you can also take off the rubber studs front if you like as they are replaceable see picture here. Guesstimate you can get it down to 300g pr shoe w/o cleats and rubber.

Oooh, yeah! They look good.

I did a bit more research this morning and found the Lake CX175 shoes at 325g each. Not super light but they are cheap at £80 and have the "BOA" type fasteners.
