Taking the switch over to Di2... going to be running an FSA K Force SRM.. question is.... the chain.. saw both the Tinkoff and Etixx teams are using the FSA chain vs the Dura Ace chain.. does this have anything to do with them using the FSA chainrings vs the Dura Ace? Garmin guys also using FSA rings on the SRM, but using the Shimano chain??

It has nothing to do with the FSA chainring and everything to do with the fact they are sponsored by FSA.
The DA chain is probably better.

K thanks guys..
On a sidenote, was the reason why Etixx was having so much shifting issue in the spring ever determined?

KMC chains are narrower than shimano. And the documented Di2 adjustment relies on the width of the chain to set its position. If you setup a KMC chain on a di2 bike as documented, it won't shift properly towards the high end of the cassette. I've tried adding extra clicks of adjustment, but never could get it to shift as well as a shimano chain.

FSA chains, from my limited experience, are KMC chains in all but name, down to the identical quick link.

I've never heard of the chain width discrepancy. Seeing as kmc don't make any other group set components it doesn't make much sense to me that there would be one. Anyone a link to proof of the above?

Kmc chains work great on Shimano. There is no difference in width between Shimano and Kmc chains, both are 5.62mm. Campag 11 chains are a bit narrower at 5.5mm.
