Just received a pair of Super Record brake callipers. I went for the non-differential version (i.e. dual pivot both front and rear).

Both brakes are identical. The mounting bolt is exactly the same length on both. I thought that the front should have a longer bolt, or have they changed these days?

Would be good to know before I return them as faulty.

Long bolt for front, and short for the rear, so you have got two fronts or two rears

2 rear I think. Both have a short bolt.
Grrrrr.

First check the codes on the boxes it came in.

Front brake: BR15-SRF

Rear brake: BR15-SRR (mono pivot) - BR15-SRDPR (dual pivot)

Ordered from Merlin Cycles. Came in an OEM plastic bag, so no codes. Disappointed since it didn't say OEM on the website.

Both are dual pivot. Both have the same short bolt, although there were some longer nuts supplied, which made me wonder if perhaps they now use a shorter bolt to save weight and compensate using a longer nut.

Think I will return them. They aren't right.

OP, it's your choice of course, but since you are reordering anyway, nearly all my bikes have the single pivot rear brake. The engineering behind differential brakes makes a lot of sense to me, it works just fine, saves weight, and has more clearance than the double.

OEM. That's the reason it was so cheap from Merlin! They sell it for less than most of the retailers buy the group set from Campagnolo distributors!
