I've racked the internet trying to source a replacement drop in bearing for my 2011 Scott Foil and I've turned up very little outside of some sketchy looking sites with 40 dollar shipping. Ideally I'd just like to get a bearing, but if I have to get a whole headset I'd live.

The bearing reads "Ritchey Retainer" on the side and is numbered 41x30.15 45x45

I've found this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-15mm-41mm-6- ... 51d3cc904c

But I have no idea what the thickness should be? My measuring tape looks close to 6.5mm but I'm pretty sure the ritchey is an 8mm variant. Chain reaction cycles carries something similar but it's a 7mm for a press fit frame, and my bearing is drop in.

Help?

It can be sourced through a Scoot Dealer.

After a while you work out that it is just a well to buy another headset and use the bearing from that.

The foil has integrated races and the bearings are huge compared to standard headset, that won't work.

I would contact Scott directly or the local distributor.

I've heard that should work as well, but I've reached out to a couple of local Scott shops and they're looking into. I'll let you know if I'm able to source a bearing

I've seen those, I have the 2011 model and it has silver bearings currently. I'm not 100% sure those are the same thing?

I had a similar issue replacing my 2011 Addict headset bearings. After the LBS ordered a pair of cane creek 41x30.15 45degx30deg IS2 bearings and they didn't quite sit right, I just bought this model off amazon:
Ritchey Headset Replacement Bearings
As far as I can tell, ritchey headsets are the only one that use that standard, although I was able to find a few international sellers on ebay selling generic cheaper bearings.

Did you get the press fit 1-1/8 model?

"Press Fit 1 1/8 and Drop In HS/Cane Creek 41.0 mm"
When I e-mailed Ritchey, they said the following:
"What you need to have the shop order is our 55050007005 Sealed Cartridge Bearings WCS 41.0/30.5/8mm 45*/45* 2pcs"

Have you tried Cane Creek's headset finder?

I don't think cane creek will have them. Scott uses the ritchey drop in spec which is different.

The cane creek headset finder didn't yield any results but I ordered a set of the bearings posted above - I'll let you know if they were when they arrive tomorrow

That definitely did it, came in a pack of two, works great. Thanks!
