on my Vial EVO, my seat post clamp recently broke. its a 30.0 clamp and i can't find a replacement. a 27.2 seat post clamp doesn't work since the I.D. of those clamps are 31.8 (i bought one recently and it couldn't cinch down enough to hold the seat post since the the Vial EVO seat tube is just so thin).

what's everyone using? checked FWB and found a Parts of Passion one in 30.0 but seems that are backordered.

I believe the Ax clamp is made by Yuniper, they look identical.
You can find Yuniper 30.0mm clamp on r2-bike:

thx, i saw that. was hoping to find something locally in the US.

MCFK makes a 30.0 clamp as well.

Kcnc makes a 30.9 mm. I used that in my NeilPryde Bura SL, where a 31.8 would not work. Bought mine from FWB.

wrcompositi's recommendation is top notch. Impressive to make the leap from AX to Yuniper. :beerchug:
Did you use a torque wrench adjusted to 4nm when it failed?
Also, have you considered emailing AX for a new clamp? I'm sure they would be more than happy to ship you a new one.
MCFK is another good recommendation if you want to go with a different clamp. Their lightest clamp is a bit heavier than the AX clamp and not as robust in my experience.
I have some photos of the AX and MCFK clamp on my Vial Evo build (I didn't realize the AX would come with such a nice clamp which is why I had both):

All of above mentioned clamps will come from Europe and will require a week or two wait.
It's not a Trek, you own a hand-crafted European-made frame.
I think it's worth the wait to get a clamp that is worthy of the build.

Good info to note for Vial Evo users like me.
Not bashing them but AX ain't the most responsive of companies for customer service dare I say.
Emailed them twice about my rear derailleur hanger bolt issue and never got a reply.
Thankfully my LBS sorted that out for me! Love the bike and how it rides though!!

i use a Effetto torque wrench on everything carbon. its been on for almost a year...then suddenly, the saddle swiveled and i noticed that the clamp was on the floor. i did find it at r2-bike.com. i got a replacement Yuniper and the same Mcfk sub5 clamp. i'm not sold on the same clamp that AX uses. i looked at where it snapped and its not a forged piece. failure with the alloy. its okay with the wait...and i really do like MCFK's build quality. i originally tried to source a POP clamp but those in the 30.0 size are very difficult to source. thx for the insight...and i followed your post of your build back in the day when the Vial EVO D came out. thx!

ordered directly. thx for the link. i'm riding the Parlee, and haven't ridden the AX Vial EVO D since a few months ago. it'll give me time to re pack the grease in the BB and headset and give it a good cleaning. thx again.

Just realized mine broke too today just as I was rolling the bike outta the house!
N i always use a torque wrench on my carbon parts. N usually undertighten them rather than to the limit

i ended up using the MCFK carbon clamp...as i never had any issues with their products. the yuniper and the AX clamp of similar looks a bit thin and too fragile. i didn't want to go through with the same issues as the original. haven't had any problems using the MCFK clamp and it looks great.
