To me it looks like a cosmetic flaw. If it was a crack, I think it would be obvious.

I have worked with Derek S from parlee in the past. Great customer service. If there are any issues, I'm willing to bet they work with you to resolve.

that looks to me that there is a short length of Unidirectional pre-impregnated Carbon Fiber on the dropout end and another layer goes underneath it , there is a small amount of resin sitting in that tiny triangular gap . It is only cosmetic but I am fairly surprised that Parlee even let that out the door ... If that was done to strengthen the end of the tube( attached to the stay) it could have easily been done internally out of sight

Parlee has been very responsive to all my needs. whether it be a bolt for the ESX seat post or grommets for Di2 that have gone missing. one of the better bike companies that i have dealt with that has excellent customer service. don't be hesitant in contacting them. regardless of the production frame or custom one...they treat all issues in a similar manner.

Thanks again for the responses. @latman - particularly helpful.

At the moment I'm struggling to get a direct email for any of the guys at Parlee, and have had no response from info@... but I'm persevering! I'll pick up the phone if there's nothing by tomorrow.

My BMC SLR01 had the same type of imperfection if you can call it that. Not a crack at all.

The area I had that similar item was on the seatstays, exactly on both sides in the exact same spot. I'm guessing some type of UD damping BMC uses to soften the ride.

Frankly I'm concerned...

It took a full 24 hours go from random forum post to a personal response from the manufacturer (rather than a dealer) to both email and here at the random forum...

That's 12 hours longer than I thought it would take.

That may be true for the most part, but it was pretty obvious here.
