If I am getting a pre-owned 2012 Specialized Tarmac S-Works, should I still worry about the recall from Specialized for the fork? Can I still take the bike in to a Specialized retailer and inspect/perform the recall if its not done?

I will add one question. Does it also apply to Allez framesets that came with same (or not the same) forks?

Recalls, at least in the US, are never dependent on being an original owner since they are a safety issue rather than a one-off defect.

i'm so tempted to simply respond, hey, look everyone, evolution in action

but that'd be a bit harsh, so to be clear...

if a bike is listed by spesh as covered by a safety recall then follow the recall procedure as this may save you from screaming death

worst case, it's already been done, they'll find the record of this, and you wasted a bit of time

you may well be able to check by contacting them direct with model+serial number

Yep, new 2012 frame (still in the box) bought from sale.
