SRAM 11-32 cassette on Super Record 2015

It does make sense, and I do it with a 28. My only point was that on some setups if you wanted a 32 you'd risk driveline trashing as noted above. You'd make the blockout optional, not mandatory, as part of the options in etube or whatever.

@mrgray how long have your 34-32 gearing experiment lasted so far? I'm using a 11 speed record rear derailleur (pre-2015) with a shimano hub wheelset, and I'm sorely tempted to slap on a 11-32 as well when I tackle Taiwan's Wuling mountain next year. It's a once off event so it'lln be rather crazy to change groupset etc just for it.
Guess it'll have to be this way or resign to pushing up 20+ degree slopes for an hour or two...

That's genius!

i've taken if off now because i think the concept is proven on my bike. i can see how if i go big big it'll be an issue, however i only want to use it when i am doing a mountian specific thing, and in such a circumstance i will spend all day in 34 on front so it is no problem for me.
yeah but for everyday i am back to my 29 cassette in any case.
29 to 32 does make a big difference though (like 50W for a cadence of 90 on a 10% slope for me) so it is worth doing especially when there will be very high slopes. can keep you in the happy zone longer than otherwise.
