mechanical:
Chorus 11sp. and (if on a budget) Shimano 105 11 sp.
Current Chorus is as good or better than everything Dura-ace/super record/red/...made over the last 10 years. What pro's rode 5 years ago is all worse than current Chorus or Ultegra. Easy to state that there is no added performance benefit for professional racers in buying super record or dura ace. Even if money was no object, I wouldn't like Ti cogs etc to make it lighter, while it doesn't last as long.
No experience with electric.
ps: the very best gruppo at the moment is actually Shimano Claris: shifts very well, is robust and very cheap. Everything more expensive is a waste of money for e.g. commuter / bad weather bikes.

Dura Ace 7800. simple, elegant, durable, solid as a rock. no unnecessary carbon bits, lovelly crank design. I'll take it over anything else anytime, but since I can't I'm left with the dreadful DA 9000
I gotta agree with de zwarten on Claris though - my sister has it on a her bike and it works flawlessly
