Newbie here. Anyone ordered the new HongFu FM 169 (R8) frame? Looks really nice but is almost twice as much as the FM082SL ($949 vs $580). I've been riding the FM139 for 2 years and have had no issues. Rolling on Farsports 50mm clinchers - just ordered a new pair as the rear had a hard life and the rim had bulged in one section. No drama for the low price. I fancy a new frame and the R8 looks very nice.

reminds me of a Wilier Cento1Air (aero bike).

nohands, I agree it looks very similar to the Wilier. The $949 price they've quoted me includes frame, fork, seatpost, brake and head set. I've seen some pictures where the rear brake is mounted at the crank level and the front brake sort of incorporated into the frame. However, the Facebook pic of the completed bike shows standard brake fitting. Good to have both options I guess. I think I might pull the trigger and order one. I ride a 54 frame but the options are 53 or 56 so I need to study the geometry.

I really like the look of this. I've been looking at a Chinese frame for a few weeks/months and reading the other thread daily to get as much info as possible.

But this frame option is certainly very interesting now!!

Looks even more like a Merida Reacto.

Good spot gzon, R8 does look like the Merida and considering Merida is a Taiwanese company I can appreciate how the frame has gone "open mould."

I think I'm going to order so will keep you all posted.

Tadders-two different bikes, I think, the fm082 has fork integrated brakes and bb mounted rear. The 169 has conventional brakes-curious if they're standard or direct mount.

Did you order the FM169? Are you running Di2 by chance?

Unfortunately seems this frame is out of the picture for me now, as Hongfu have confirmed they will not sell to the UK !!!

Hence, I'm now looking for an alternative choice, any options to consider ?!

Only in as much as to say they cannot supply to the UK any more due to exclusivity. But I'm checking another route! I'll keep you posted as I'm still interested in this frame.
