I was reading another thread that said one should not use a nice carbon bike because of the risks / crashes in criteriums?
I thought carbon was supposed to be tough?
Aluminum is better for crit races?

I would guess people like aluminum because aluminum frames are generally cheaper to replace than carbon frames.

never race anything you cannot afford to replace... a carbon frame can be repaired if crashed, most aluminum frames are trash if bent or dented
