There's not supposed to be any significant force on that plastic adjusting ring- deep groove ball bearings can't take much preload.

That said I put angular contact bearings in my Epic (PF30). Those can take and should have significant preload. And the plastic collar is handling that fine.

So I'd say it's sufficient.
