Wow, that Alan is nice. I don't normally like retro but this one pushes my buttons. Even though I rode a Vitus back in the day I liked the Alans.

I assume the aluminium "lugs" are just paint.

I'd like to see some Wilier bikes.

Stages Power Meter for Super Record crank arm.
It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

Tune Black Foot ROAD crank? Nothing at Eurobike and their 2015 catalog stated late 2015 for the road version.

They tout the fatigue cycles of the cx-ray, but no mention of them on the carbon spoke. That says something.

re: carbon spokes. Note the "the use is limited to professional road racing" point. Which I interpret as a trade off between light weight / performance vs durability.

I'm still quite curious about this product. For 20 spokes, this is ballpark 35 gram savings vs cx-ray?

Fatigue has to be much better in CFRP.

Why do you say that?

The failure mechanisms of metals is different to that of polymers (which carbon fiber basically is). Thus the sets of materials have different fatigue limits as the mechanism by which they fail is different. Consequently polymers tend to fare better under fatigue.

Are these round as opposed to bladed? Will you slice your fingers if they get in the spokes while riding?

Is there a reason other than cost or just trying to make it sound cool and exclusive, and therefore a must for the rich weekend warriors, why "The use is limited on professional road racing"?

There's a cross section figure of the spoke near the bottom....

Thanks for the coverage. Any word on who will make compatible hubs for the carbon spokes? I'm wondering how to check spoke tension if the spokes have no flex. @hammer: road professional is just marketing speak suggesting they not be used for off-road applications..

There is no elasticity in the spoke. As a result the wheel will be incredibly rigid.
What does this mean from a comfort standpoint?
