Sorry for asking so many questions but Weightweenies is more than just any other bicycle forum where... let's just leave it at that. Weightweenies rock the world.

So, what's your favorite chain lube, please...?

WD40. Great clean AND lube. Really, it's a lube.

But you need to clean and lube EVERY TIME.

This is a terrible subject by the way. There are no right or wrong answers. It's like asking what it the best thing to put in your water bottle.

WD40 is NOT chain lube. It's a penetrating fluid and water displacer. Appealing stuff to use on a bike chain.

Check the chain lube reports at Friction Facts (who built a nice rig for measuring chain friction) or the articles in VeloNews.

generic syn lube, cheap, long chain life, stays put in the wet

if you have the luxury of not living somewere wet, maybe try a dry lube, but you'll need to apply it more often

Squirt wax. Granted you need to re-apply often but... clean, slient... Almost perfect.

+1 on T9. One application is good for hundreds of miles.

Finish Line dry teflon / wax in the summer. I get around 150-200 miles on one application depending on road dust / rain. After applying and the drivertrain spun it's allowed to soak for 30 mins and then excess removed

Finish Line wet in the winter
