Calibration value returns zero in my Garmin Edge 510
Moderator: robbosmans
Hello,
I've just changed my SRM batteries, and after triggering the PM my Garmin was able to read everything about the PM (ID, slope, and every detail about battery status, software version, etc) but fail to calibrate, returning a zero value!!! I'm scared, I have now a very expensive cadence sensor.
Any thoughts?

I'm not familiar with SRM power meters however my Quarq can return a calibrate value anywhere from -110 to +20. So in theory a zero is a valid number. What was the previous calibrate value? Could you try another Garmin to see if it could calibrate it?
No, that's not the case. Normal values are between 200 and 900, SRM states that values above por below this interval are wrong.

Are you sure that your Garmin settings have not changed. I would look for update from Garmin updater, and then make sure that you are not looking at an automatically zeroed figure.
Not the case either. No settings changed and software is the latest v4.20 ... Maybe it's a software bug, pm was out when I upgraded from Garmin ...

Are you sure it is not the torque that it is reading and zeroing ?
Garmin have gone through a change from displaying offset to torque.

No, there are two power measures I display, the 10s avg power and % of FTP power, and both read zero ... helpless ...
The real problem begins at the time I try to calibrate te pm, when it reads zero. Besides that, all data is apparently normal.

Cadence is ok, the only issue is when I try to calibrate the pm
