The chain rubs on the inside of the big chainring when on the smallest three sprockets (OLD 135mm). I have two 2.5mm spacers I can fit - one on the DS and one on the NDS - however, if I fit these it looks as if the bearings will no longer fully locate on the machined areas of the spindle where they are supposed to locate.
Any comments?
Thanks.

BB shell width ?
Frame brand/model ?
Chainstay length ?
Check alignment of rear triangle for centering ?
Check derailleur alignment (it could be "working" but the lower cage angled outward, causing chainring rub)
I had that problem with Wickwercks compact chainrings, but they are known to have unusually thick ramps.
When I checked and adjusted my derailleur hanger, I carefully tweaked it so that it was "within spec" but tilted slightly inward and twisted so it is "looking at" the little chainring. I can remember if the spec was like within 1 or 2mm, but I cheated in the direction i wanted the derailleur to look because I know that I like to cross-chain. Big-Big is usually no problem, but little-little can create rub unless you are very precise about alignment. .
