WD40 does nothing good for your bike/anything else other than it smells ok. Please use a silicone based lubricant.

I had similar issues with my Powercordz. I was running them in Aican Bungarus housing. I ended up taking everything apart and found the Powercordz cable outer lining was no longer smooth. Powercordz are not very forgiving in terms of dirt and dust build-up. I would suggest inspecting the cable if lube doesn't work.
