Most 1990s Italian frames were generic (same Columbus or Deda or Oria tubes, similar geometry, similar colors, details etc.) but were great frames at the same time.
I don't agree carbon Scapin frames are or look generic. On the contrary. These are among the few real 'handmade in Italy' frames.

I thought Scapin were different to other steel frame builders at the time in that they would insert carbon tubes into their steel frames etc...English cycles now do this...

I guess you are referring to their post 2000 frames and you're right. I was referring to lewdvig's post on the 90s Scapins.
