I've been running a bit of a Frankenstein drivetrain and front shifting has been highly prone to difficulty:
  • 2008 10-speed Sram Rival shifters
  • Ritchey Breakaway cable couplers on steel cables
  • Dura Ace 9-speed front derailleur (the Sram broke, as they tend to do)
  • Praxis cyclocross chainrings
  • KMC 10-speed chain

Anyone see any issues with this combination?

Are the pull ratios of the levers and the FD the same? The SRAM is 1:1 I believe, not sure about the Shimano.

Nice! It's a Ritchey Breakaway steel and so the clamp is smaller -- need to measure the precise number.

Yeah -- I'll try to dig up a used SRAM front derailleur and see if that helps. The Praxis rings shouldn't be an issue: everyone loves those.
