Hi Guys,

Iv got a Deda stem, seat post and Handlebars and I'm happy with the stem but the seat post has a ridiculously long logo on it, and as I don't have a huge amount of seat post showing its half covered up!! Also on the post and handlebars they are red which doesn't match into the bike at all.

So how do I remove them and will there be any sign that it was there left over after?

There's a pic for reference

Thanks in advance.

That looks under the paint to me right? If it is the way I would do it is wet sand it off (so its even as it goes through the clear coat/decal) then re clear coat the post.

I'm not sure it is, the letters are very pronounced but tbh I wouldn't really know, the post doesn't look like there's a clear coat on there at all to me, but I'm not sure.

Is there a way I could try? Or perhaps someone who knows about these things has a deda set like this and could tell me

...if above the clear coat, then ACETONE or NAPTHA with minimal effort needed

Yes if on top of the clear coat easy, a little heat and your fingernails. If clear coat is sealing them about the only way is abrasives and then you would need to re-clear. Thant's ok if you are familiar with that type of process

Yeah could try nailpolish remover (test on the part that is inside the frame).

Hi all,

Yes iv had the post out of the frame and tried it on the letters below the clamp line, nail polish remover didn't do much but heat worked! So the decals are definitely on top, took a while just to do one though so I'll be at this a while!!

Guys I'm going to do the bars tomorrow, but I don't really want to strip them of the shifters and stem, does carbon expand when heated? Will heating it whilst it's all clamped up cause me any problems?

Almost anything expands when it's heated. I wouldn't worry about the shifters because they're a long way away and the bars won't conduct heat very well. I doubt if it's even needed, but why not loosen the stem clamp bolts a bit before you do it, then tighten them again to spec once you are done....

Yes I can loosen the stem quite easily it was more the shifters I was worrying about, thanks for the response I'll let you know how I get on.

Would be great to get an update on your findings.
Still happy with the result? No unexpected surprises over time?
