Hi Everyone,

I was sharing my powertap g3 wheelset between my two 10 speed bikes. My trek aluminum bike on the trainer and my Carbon Cannondale outside.

Have just recently sold my 10 speed Cannondale and purchased a new 11 speed Evo. Would like to upgrade the powertap to 11 speed but would mean I could no longer use it on the trek on the trainer.... Or can I?

Cheers

Same as any other 11speed wheel - as long as you have the 11 speed spacer plus the 10 speed spacer you'll be fine.

I did this for months on my tt bike as my road bike had 11spd and tt bike was 10spd, used 11spd wheels on both and works perfectly but misses a gear on the 10spd bike, for me it was the 28.

It takes about 1 minute to swap the freehub on a PowerTap, and you can do it without removing the cassette. So buy an 11-speed freehub (for about £30) and an 11-speed cassette for the Evo, and then whip both hub and cassette off to switch them for the existing 10-speed freehub for use on the trainer. I do this to swap between 10-speed Campag and 10-speed Shimano on my PowerTap. Quicker than changing the cassette.
