Hi, I just made a testride on my new Paris Carbon FP and the seatpost (a most carbon) is sliding down constantly every few kilometres. I tightened it real well bu of course don't want to break the frame. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this ?
Thanks,
Dave

Hi,

Just try carbon fibre lube. Or try normal lube with a little bit of sand, it worked on my bike!

Hairspray and a bit of sand. Pretty ghetto, I know, but it works.

Dave,

I had a similar problem with my bike/seatpost. I cut a finger of a surgical glove and put it between the frame and the seatpost. Just insert the finger into the seatpost and place it where it meets the clamp.

It worked for me. Hope it works for you.

Clean it well and remove any kind of grease. Then tighten it with the max recomended torque.

I'd check for tolerance first. Figure out whether the cause is the seatpost or frame. As reference a seatpost should fit rather snugly before it's even tightened down.

This is common with carbon/carbon combinations. Make sure there is NO grease on the seat post or inside the seat-tube. Clean it with a good degreaser, then try just a shot of hair-spray. If you continue to have an issue, find a VERY fine sandpaper and rough up the inside of the seat-tube and just the lowest portion of the post, just enough to dull the clear-coat. Make sure to clean away any of the dust, and try the hair-spray again.

Make sure you also using a torque wrench to set the collar.
