1st link carbon bar on cyclocross bike, don't use carbon bars in CX >too many crashes, how many times had they hit the deck?
2nd link Zipp bars, over tightened stem? crack seemed to originate from stem or were they Chinese fakes (very common)
3rd link aluminium bars failed at stem (overtightened?) 95kg rider 11,000 miles serviced twice at local bike shop?

Great examples, what point are you trying to make?

Picture is a fork steerer failure.

I have ordered two sets of Ergonova copy bars from two different sellers. I thought it be good to se if i lied the shape and also trying different sizes before buying a real one. The first one i bought was with 3T branding(i planned on sanding it down anyways) and they seemed really strong and good. I was impressed. but then I noticed that they had different flare on either side. It flared 8-9mm on one side and 17mm on the other. Got the money back from the seller and ordered a new from another seller, this time with no logo or branding. Got it a couple of days ago and build wise it seemed equally good as the first one , but this one also had non symmetrical flare. This time 9mm and 13mm. Otherwise weighted in on 200g and 202g respectively in size 420mm

Anyone experiencing the same? or are you guys getting symmetrical bars?

Always buy from the seller that has the most sold and best feedback on the item...

Not always true but it is too hard to know when it is.

I was looking at the links BRM posted earlier, 2 are from 2010 and the other is from 2008. Hardly see tham as relevant in 2016.

This handlebar was bought from velobuild:

Never crashed, torque wrenched, never carried on airplane.
I had my doubts the day I assembled it as it was creaking in a very disconcerting way. A creak here and a pop there made me throw the towel in and get a 3T Tornaova instead.
I took the handlebar off and did this to it with my bare hands. BTW I'm no heavy weight!

At the moment I'm really grateful I came to my senses before something really bad happened.
It's peace of mind if nothing else, not knowing the state of the handlebar was keeping me back.
