I tried searching but didn't find a conclusive answer. I read that the sram bb30 cranks are apparently not "true bb30" cranks (whatever that means). Will a bb30 riken fit in a canyon frame (aeroad or ultimate. bb86 correct?)? If yes, what BB would I need to get?

Also, would the power2max classic FSA gossamer fit the canyon frame? If yes, will it work with the shimano BB that come installed on the canyons?

As you might have guessed, I'm planning on buying a PM and will also be ordering a canyon in the near future and want the PM I buy now to be compatible with the Canyon.

Much thanks!

evidently, you did not search hard enough.
Quarq RIKEN compatibility : https://www.quarq.com/store/item/1725/
power2max FSA gossamer compatiblity: http://www.power2max.de/europe/en/Produ ... -gossamer/
at the bottom og the page, click compatible BB

sram bb30s are not true bb30s because they have a slightly longer spindle. this means they will fit BBright and BB30 with a spacer. acctually better, if you ask me.

BB30 will not fit in BB86. BB30 has a 30mm diameter spindle. BB86 uses the traditional 24mm spindle. you can go from BB86to30, but not the other way around.

the Power2Max wil not fit in the shimano BB. you will need to buy this: http://www.power2max.de/europe/en/Produ ... -for-bb86/ and have your shop install it for you.

Not true for Red (non-powermeter), Rival, and 10s Force though.

I have a followup question. Is bb86 strictly 24mm spindle cranks only? I saw this (http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/ ... vo-adapter) and it looks like it will make bb386 cranks (30mm spindle) fit bb86. Am I missing something here?

This came up because I'll be getting a Canyon frame (bb = pressit fit 41 x 86.5 (thats bb86 right?)) and was wondering if the FSA K-force 386 evo crankset (a K-force SRM) fit on that frame. It looked to me like, with the bb86-386 adapter I linked above, it will work. Please let me know if I'm missing something here!

Thanks!

Rotor 4130 box might work.

Kauphy, yes it will work! you CAN fit 30mm spindle cranks on bb86 if the spindle is long enough!

Just be aware though, the compromise is smaller bearings, so the BB you have linked above to fit a 386 in an 86 frame can wear out quicker.
