I'm about to pull the trigger on a BaiXaing carbon wheelset, but am unsure about paying an extra £50 for the lighter hubs: Novatec A291SB-SL/F482SB-SL as opposed to A271SB/F372SB.

The difference in weight is a good 200g, so £50 for a 200g savings seems very good value, I'm just worried going for the lighter hubs will compromise hub performance? Rolling resistance (or lack of) is more important to me than 200g saving.

Anyone any experiences?

The ultralight are totally fine in terms of performance, although you'll not get long out of the bearings. Not a huge issue as they're cheap and easily replaceable - but possibly the heavier hubs are sealed better.

Go for the lighter set.

I'm around 77kg and I got the lighter Novatecs instead of the even lighter Bitexes for my Touring/Allround/Gravel wheelset and so far they'e great.

Thanks for the advice guys. These wheels will be on my best bike that only sees races and club runs in good weather, so high mileage and rain/dirt aren't such an issue (unlike my commuter).
