Anyone that knows where i can source a crown race reducer/ adapter, allowing a straight, none tapered fork with a 1 1/4 lower headset?
I do not wish to change headset or use a headset reducer.
I only look for a crown race adapter.

Thanks!

You could probably check if this would work with your headset. It's only usd17.

Cane Creek makes an adapter sleeve that I am using. It has been posted about here before, if you use the Search function. It works fine. Also, Cane Creek has excellent telephone tech support. If you have a hard time finding one or have questions, give them a call.

OOPS...I see you don't want to use an adapter. I don't know why; but what I referred to is an adapter that reduces the 1.25 frame race to accommodate a 1.125 fork and race.

that chris king baseplate could work. maybe it doesn't. give it a try!

chris king's devolution headsets eliminate the difference between a 1-1/8" fork steerer and a 1-1/4" frame steerer tube. i had a devolution headset on my '97 manitou HT frame (i am currently selling that one) which had a 1-1/4" frame steerer tube. above mentioned baseplate matches the whole (lower) devolution headset body which allows for the use of a 1-1/8" fork steerer without the use of a reducer which you would have to press into the frame to make a standard 1-1/8" headset fit. do i make myself understood? :unbelievable:

Hi wheelsONfire
I have the same issue for a customer that i think you had
His bike uses 1"1/8 top and 1"1/4 lower
Fork is damaged, needs replacing
1"1/4 tapered forks are like rocking horse
so was thinking a standard 1"1/8 straight fork with a reducer crown race
it's an integrated headset setup
Did the CK DHS433 part you used work?

I did not use that adapter in the end. I bought Chris King Inset 1.
My head tube on that bike is a straight 44mm, OD is 50mm (if that matters?)
Check this inset finder Ian

Ian, let us know how you get on with that crown race. I'd like to try a Scapula SP in my tapered frame without changing headset. 18g is a bit painful, Extralite's 1,1/5 reducer is like 5g.

If it works I might see if I can get a custom one made from aluminium assuming I can get hold of a THM fork.
