Hi,

I've just purchased a supersix hi mod frameset and being a weight weenie I've put it on the scales the weight is as follow;

Frame - 990g (56cm)
Fork - 416g (Uncut steerer)

Is this correct? I thought the frames were meant to be around 750g, and the fork around 350g. Being the much over the claimed weight has got me wondering whether I have got just the Evo frame, even the box read "Supersix Evo War green". Should I return it or is this the actual weight of the frames?

Thanks,
Simon

My s6 evo (56cm) weighed in at 813g and the fork (I think) 320g. Those weights you quoted seem very high. The really light frames have no paint so far as I'm aware.

Are you sure it's a HiMod... I have built several 54-58's usually come in around 720-750 grams.

I have to check my records, but my recollection of the himod I built for a friend was 730 for the frame.

Are there hi mod logos on the frame? Looks like a H over an M

900g+ frame weight is not HM, it should be just around 700g. My non-HM frame is 940g (52cm).

Thanks for the replies. Do you know where the H M logo is on the frame, as I can't see it on mine.

Going to have to email the shop I bought it off and see what they say to the weight. I'll upload some pictures shortly.

Here's a few photos to help ID the frame;

That seems to be the frame of the SuperSix Evo Carbon Sram Red, which is not Hi-Mod.

Def not hi-mod.

HM frames have the logo near the bottom of the seat stays and forks, as you can see here http://www.cannondale.com/nam_en/2015/bikes/road/elite-road/supersix-evo/supersix-evo-hi-mod-frameset-33178

....not to mention, if u r trying to get a real weight to compare to other frames, u MUST weigh a BARE frame, w/out BB or headset bearings, rear mech hanger, H2O screws, seatclamp, and any other hardware.
