For what its worth mine weighed 520 grams with bottom bracket and praxis rings.
Fair Wheel expects ours to arrive mid to late next week. I'm told we'll have the first of the 170 and 175 lengths available along with our 172.5.

I would like to ask madcow, what chainrings would you suggest to keep weight low, but still shifting performance to match?

I'm pretty sure Madcow will recommend Praxis rings. You're only giving up 20-30g between a set of Extralite rings (Regarded as one of the lightest rings combos) to a set of Praxis. I have THM and Lightning cranks with Extralite RC2 rings and Praxis on the THM. The Praxis rings shift night and day better than the Extralite rings. Not saying either one is bad, you can just feel and see the difference in ring material alone. Don't skimp on performance when it comes to shifting.
Extralite RC2 = 94g
Praxis 50/34 = 124g
30g difference and better shifting performance.

how has the drive side bearing area holding up on your carbon spindle? i just got mine in yesterday and i saw that there is no protection on the carbon axle on the drive side only. this is a little concerning to me as when i do service my bearings i notice wear marks where the bearings sit along the spindle. i do not want that normal wear process to weaken the axle and then when i putting out power it come apart on me. Does anyone know why there is metal on the non drive side but not on the drive side?
