Does it matter that Shimano and Campagnolo have switched to 4 contact points (the star that connects to the chain ring), but the THM Clavicula SE still has 5? Will that lead to issues down the road with chain rings etc? Also, there ought to be a reason for switching from 5 to 4. Would seem to make sense to implement that change here as well, wouldn't it?
Otherwise it looks and seems utterly amazing!

Why would it?
There are many versions of 5 contact points. Just look at the new FSA K-force light using their own design.
It seems as 4 contact points, but there is a fifth at the crank arm.
If THM had used 4 contact points, what chainrings would you suggest people would use with it?

Not finding fault. Was a genuine question. I love the look of the THM crank and may get it on the next bike if I can justify the expense with my conscience.
I was curious if the 4 point option had any advantage to the 5 point one; and why both Shimano and Campagnolo made the switch.

MRM, i don't remember. But one thing might be, you need not decide of either of 110 or 130bcd . You can hook up what ever rings you prefer instead of being forced using either compact or standard bcd. This is same with FSA K-force.
Stripped of rings K-force light BB 386 EVO is 410 grams (172.5mm version).
If i am correct, the typical 5 contact point cranks are still requiring either compact or standard.
I weighted for instance, K-force in both 52/36 and 53/39. The latter is 25 grams more heavy and the first was 560 grams.
So if you buy Clavicula SE, you can get a much lighter set. I know THM recommends Praxis due to many light weight chainrings lesser shifting quality.
