I still like my bike but am getting an itch for a new frame set. Currently riding a 54 2012 cannondale supersix 6440g. I'd like to get a frame set that comes in around 750g. Not looking to break my bank, but would probably be looking at a $1500'ish budget.

With there being so many bikes out there, I'd love some help narrowing down my homework. What would you recommend?

Chinese carbon? I think the FM066SL will come under budget and hit the target weight.

I can't think of too many frames that are that weight and that price. Perhaps since you already have a (relatively) light weight supersix you could build more of an aero bike? It'll give you something different to ride on flatter days.

If you're looking to replace the supersix with something different (but similar style) I can't speak highly enough of the Swift Ultravox. By far the best frame I've ridden, but they're pricey (and heavy) though.
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it :)

Disclosure: I'm sponsored by Velocite, but I do give my honest opinion about them (I'm endorsed to race their bikes, not say nice things about them)

I'm good with going with a used frameset as long as it's in very good condition. I would think 1500 would be enough for several different options.

Like which? My FM066 is 895g in 56, so a Frame for 1500 that saves 150g would be interesting, as it would put me under 6kg finally :)

I see cannondale Evo HM frames fairly often for $1500. It's the direction I was headed but was curious what others would recommend.

At that price point, depending on where you're located and the bike shops around you, you can buy a new Evo HM for $1700. Aside from the Evo HM, I really can't think of anything else at that weight with your budget.

You know what my short answer is... EVO HM. On the other hand I was thinking about the HF-066sl also. Not to replace my EVO, N+1.

Doing STP this weekend and my EVO is the only bike in my Fleet that I want to ride.
