Has anyone else had an issue with the small nub on the bottom of battery breaking off? It just happened to me for the 2nd time. It results in the annoying result of occasional shifting outages on whichever derailleur you use it on. Without the nub, the metal posts that create the circuit between battery and derailleur can lose contact and result in the aforementioned non-shifting
moments. I'm either really unlucky or its a design flaw. (And yes, I've double checked: all batteries have been fully charged at the time of these occurances). LOVE the system otherwise.

no, had no problems

tbh the part i wonder about is the plastic retaining lever that clips the battery in place - it's not a design that fills me with confidence, the hinge pins cannot be that substantial and it is a dust/grit trap, i wonder what the options will be if one wears/fatigues and snaps - but i hope my fears are groundless!

I have not personally had any problems so far but tbh I've not had the system very long...I had a buddy ask me the same question. He complained of the same broken tab but said they broke after dropping them. He thought the batteries were too delicate, I told him to stop dropping them!

Wow, weird problem. Have they been dropped and weakened? Cause otherwise I have never seen nor even heard of this problem. I deal with a fair amount of etap and have it myself. Are you putting the battery in flush? Super weird.

no issues here, have had them since they became available.

is it possible your batts have somehow bulged and thr extra leverage is snapping the tabs?

There was a issue on some of the earlier groups we received. There are new replacement batteries that fix this issue. Contact SRAM.

One of our guys has had 2 battery tabs snap. He's had both batteries replaced.

Had the same problem on 2 batteries. Happened on bumpy roads.

Put and elastic on the battery and came home.

Annoying... I've had a battery replaced under warranty as it wasn't holding a charge. I was fortunate that wiggle had one in stock which they sent out imediately when I pressed them as sram took 2 months to investigate / accept the battery was faulty.

Thank you for all the info. My bike shop will be calling them on Monday. I can use the information you posted if there's any pushback, but I can't imagine they wouldn't replace the batteries.

Cheers,

Bob

Good luck on the replacement. Sounds like it's a known issue.

I appreciate it this forum for many things including the depth of its knowledge!

Same happened to me yesterday on the rear battery. I did a downhill cobble session and it may have been from there. Only lost the connection at the end of the ride though, so no impact. Will go to bike shop today to see if I can get a replacement.
