I've not actually had personal experience with v brakes, have always just been on rim brakes. Based on the reviews on the Giant brakes around the internet, I'm not too convinced they're well made. But like I said, no personal experience so I can only say so much :noidea:

The feel and set up of the brakes is different. Not very complicated though.

The standard TRP pads are fine but don't have a lot of bite. A bit like Shimano Ultegra. Upgrading can easily fix that but it makes the bike prone to locking up the rear wheel and even lifting it.
