yhea...Bianchi is not going to to push their product by circulating shots of superleggera pigs well over the claimed weight...unless the marketing dept is full of complete morons....(

I would guess the new Oltre, when it comes, will also be a countervail frame.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

Nice bike but just boring in terms of design. Oltre is much more interesting, a frame with a special design id.
OTOH the fact it uses Viscoelastic tech is a big plus. It is something that really works so I do believe it will ride better than other superlight frames.

Don't like the fluo celeste either.

I like this quite a bit. Bikeradar said that Bianchi will start doing a custom paint option for this frame. I think that has great potential since this is hand painted frame.

@jimaizumi, it doesn't seem like this will replace the Sempre. The Sempre was a $2000 mid level frame, I think this will be a top of the line frame. I wouldn't be surprised if this was $5000+

@Goosenet, hopefully this frame will put the climbing bike in line with the Oltre XR2.... pity I can't find the XR in this livery..

Team Lotto-Jumbo's Robert Gesink's was spotted with one of these during the Flèche Wallone. Nice looking frame!

I don't get why new Oltre would have CV also as suggested above. That "technology" is left for the climbing/classic bikes, as others have correctly classified the Specialissima.

The the Oltre is about speed as others above have also correctly commented. If anything, the Oltre may see a sequel of the "X-Tex" technology, given that removing it has created the cheaper XR.1 version.

Ew, the Oltre with that gross banana shaped top tube and old logos and fsa parts. Gag me with a spoon.

The new Specialissima is hot though! With mechanical SR and dark 35s.

For marketing, yes. Oltre is the speedster instead. http://www.bikeradar.com/au/road/news/a ... ogy-44519/

As much as the climbing/sprinting bike arguement holds, most of us, who only ride one bike will simply go with whatever is most "appealing". While the Oltre still holds a greater level of allure for me, the Specialissima is a great looking "overall" bike. Does anybody have direct experience with their "countervail" frames? How much of a difference are we talking about?

Well said Jimaizumi on all fronts as well as the question on CV. I'm curious too. The ping ball vacuum comparison looks impressive but so did Specialized's Zertz.

He never competed on a carbon bike, right? You mean Pantani/Tour colour edition? Would be an awesome retro design!
