So it looks like Wilier have let one of the cats out of the bag in leaking that there will be a new charging method more like Di2 (hallelujah - drilling a hole in your frame was a bad idea!), and a smaller battery.

But unlike some brands who 'accidentally' have spy shots of their kit released, Campagnolo are pretty good at keeping tight lipped about new tech.

Any other news? I am guessing new derailleurs like mechanical, but haven't seen anything. Anybody?

There should be a Hydraulic Brake Option released for 2016 - That's what Campy USA said at NAHBS

The upper end Mechanical groups received derailleur/crank/shifter upgrade in 2015.. might just be a fine tuning...

Would be nice if Campag makes the battery the same size as Shimano.... New Cannondale Evo released and currently non EPS compatible because Cannondale places the battery in the new 25.4 seatpost...

You do not have to drill a hole in the frame. Just saying

I'm assuming the new battery will be backward compatible with this year's levers, changers etc?

One would hope that to be the case, but as with most things electronic and computer related, backwards compatibility can be a pretty lofty assumption. Forward is the only future.
